DivXLand Media Subtitler

A lot of people choose to avoid certain movies, just because they lack subtitles. If this prevents you from inviting your friends over to watch a movie, you can use DivXLand Media Subtitler to create your own subtitles and make sure that they are properly synchronized. It supports numerous subtitle formats and it makes it very easy to add your captions.

The software is free and you won't have any difficulties installing it on your computer. Before using DivXLand Media Subtitler, you should make sure that Windows Media Player 9 or a later version is installed on your computer. Furthermore, you may need to download and install additional codecs, otherwise you will not be able to use certain features.

DivXLand Media Subtitler allows you to add captions, while viewing your movie. You can add captions to a list, one by one, on the left side of the interface and watch the video on the right side. The software shines the most when it comes to synchronizing your captions, which can be done in two ways. While a caption is selected, you must play the movie and hold down an Apply button, during the corresponding segment. The caption will be applied to the playing segment, as long as you hold down the Apply button.

If you don't want to hold down any buttons, you can opt for the second synchronization mode. You have to click a Start button at the beginning of a segment and click an End button when you reach the segment's end. This method is similar to the first one, but instead of holding down a button, you just need to mark a segment's start and end positions.

The software provides many more features, which you can use to check your spelling, change font settings, extract the video's soundtrack and load it separately and much more. Captions can be saved in a wide variety of formats, such as TXT, SUB, STR, SSA and more. You can also embed your subtitles on the loaded movie. A wizard will guide you through this procedure, during which you can make various output settings.
